Professor Gyula Balázs and his team have presented themselves to the general public at Hungary’s largest environmental and communal exhibition. Between October 14 and 17 thousands of visitors had the opportunity to get to know firsthand the latest advances of the „Green world” and the trends of the ecological marketplace at Budapest Exhibition Centre. 178 exhibitors from 10 countries have considered it important to take part in person at this event.
Without wanting to bore you, we would like to „talk shop” for a while. The reason why it is important that you, too, visit the Ökotech exhibition is that what you can only hear about in a presentation today, will – in a few years or decades – become part of everyday life. Let’s take as an example the case of renewable energy sources or the question of air purity, water management or soil protection. At the Hungexpo site the entire range of the latest technologies were showcased by the exhibitors, of whom in 2008 more than 20% came from abroad. This portal’s favourite was the presentation which revealed how to make clean and attractive dipped paper from waste drink cartons.
Alu-GO is also pleased to report that after its success in Essen, the Eiffel Tower made from aluminium proved to be one of the most popular attractions in Budapest, as well. This 12 metre tall giant, built with the professional guidance of Gyula Balázs and covered with waste aluminium drink cans stopped a lot of people in their tracks. It should also be said that perhaps it also made many people think about what to do with a beer or Coke can: throw it away or make something with it? By the way, over these three days our favourite professor was the guest of the pavilion of the Swiss Embassy, where this scaled-down symbol of Paris was presented in the Alu-GO style. Those who missed this event this year, can make up for it in the next: Ökotech will re-open its doors in Budapest on 22 September, 2009!
